Dr. Fred Carlin, O.D., has been a respected figure in State College since he began practicing in 1975. He earned his B.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Specializing in specialty contact lenses, LASIK surgery, and glaucoma management, Dr. Carlin has made significant contributions to eye care in his community.
Throughout his career, Dr. Carlin has been active in various community organizations. He served as Vice President of the Centre Area Health Council and President of the American Cancer Society of Centre County. Dr. Carlin co-founded the Sightloss Support Group of Central Pennsylvania, demonstrating his dedication to community service. His volunteer efforts have earned him recognition as Centre County Volunteer of the Year in both 1979 and 1987.
