THE LASIK JOURNEY
Your journey begins at your complimentary consultation. Here is a brief overview of the process. We can go into as much detail as you need when you meet with our team. You are welcome to contact us through the website or call our office 814-867-1852 with questions. We look forward to seeing you.
You may request your consultation through our website, over the phone, or at a routine eye checkup. All consultations are complimentary and commitment-free.
As well, scheduling does not necessarily require a doctor referral.
At the initial consultation we will take detailed scans of your eyes to a map out paths for potential correction. Also we perform some tests on a variety of eye functions such as pupil dilation.
At the consultation a doctor will go over your testing results and gather your health history. They will make a recommendation for a particular procedure and answer any questions you may have.
Our surgical coordinator will answer any further questions you may have, go over pricing and set up a surgery date for you.
You will meet with both the coordinator and doctor again during your presurgical appointment.
Prior to your procedure you will discontinue the use of contact lenses and may use eyeglasses only. Under certain situations the doctor will prescribe drops to improve eye moisture.
This period is typically two weeks before surgery.
A few weeks prior to your surgery, you will come in for some further scans and a complete eye exam. This will evaluate the stability of your prescription and ensure that you are 100% ready for the procedure.
On surgery day you will meet with our surgeon before the procedure for a final examination of your eyes. The surgery will take place in our surgical suite and for most patients is less than 15 minutes. Afterwards you will head into an exam room for a final inspection and be allowed to head home.
After your surgery we will conduct a series of appointments to evaluate your vision and monitor the healing process. These appointments are included in the cost of your surgical package.
Detailed follow up will lead to the best results and longevity of correction.
