Q: What is MiBo?

A: MiBo Thermoflo (MiBO) is a newer alternative treatment for Dry Eye symptoms. It uses a heated eye device and ultrasound gel to stimulate the problematic glands.

Q: How does it work?

A: With your eyes closed, your MiBo specialist will simply place some hypoallergenic ultrasound gel on to your eye. They will then take the heated metal eye pad and gently massage your upper and lower eyelid. This will help the glands around your eyes produce more oil, making your eyes feel relieved of any symptoms of dry eye.

Q: Is it safe/ does the treatment hurt?

A: Yes, MiBo is a safe therapy for dry eyes. It doesn’t hurt. Most people find the experience soothing and relaxing.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: All 4 treatments cost all- together $399. Payment is due at check-in on your 2nd treatment.

Q: How long does it take?

A: Each eye takes between 8-12 minutes. Please expect to be here for about a half hour per treatment.

Q: Who can have the treatment?

A: Anyone who is suffering from Dry Eye can benefit from MiBo.

Q: How is this different to having a warm compress?

A: Although you may feel some benefit from doing warm compresses, the results with MiBo are more effective. Warm compresses can be too hot or too cold. MiBo delivers emissive heat (10 degrees above your normal body temperature) through an eye pad with ultrasound gel, which allows the heat to penetrate to the glands. Warm compresses, because they hold limited heat, lose their therapeutic effect in less than a minute.

Q: Why does MiBo treatment require multiple sessions?

A: Periodic and regular maintenance is what appears to be most effective. The rejuvenation of the body’s natural lipid secretions is expressed through multiple applications of MiBo.
